MASTERS MADRID 2024 : All you need to know,
Format :
The Masters Madrid tournament will feature a revamped format, consisting of two main stages: the Swiss Stage and the Bracket Stage.
To establish the initial matchups, teams will be allocated into four matches according to their performance in the Kickoff Tournaments. In the opening round, the contest will pit the winners of their respective Kick-Off events against all the second-place finishers. There will be no matchups between teams from the same region at this stage.
Swiss Stage ( 14th – 18th March ):
During the Swiss Stage, teams must achieve two wins before they suffer two losses over a maximum of three rounds to progress. Each match will consist of a Best of Three series.
Winning teams in Round 1 will advance, while losing teams will face elimination matches. Between each round, matchups will be determined by two random draws. From this point forward, matchups between teams from the same region will be permitted. After three rounds of Swiss competition, the top four teams will move on to the Bracket Stage.
Bracket Stage ( 21st – 24th March ):
The competitors will be paired through a random draw, followed by a double elimination bracket to narrow down the field. The tournament will conclude with Best-of-Five series in both the Lower and Grand Finals. The team that emerges victorious will be crowned the Masters Madrid Champion.
